Ketu in the 4th House and Rahu in the 10th House

In this post, I would like to explain what happens when you have Ketu in your fourth house and Rahu in your tenth house. These series are dealing specifically with Rahu and Ketu (the North Node and the South Node, respectively) house placements. If you are curious where your Rahu and Ketu are placed, please click HERE to calculate your chart. I also offer past life readings on my ETSY STORE, in which I go much more deeply into interpreting your Rahu and Ketu. The following is just a basic overview that will help you get some general ideas about Ketu in the 4th house and Rahu in the 10th house.

In Vedic astrology, Ketu shows the focus of our recent past lives, what we perfected in previous incarnations. This is, however, the area where we feel stuck or uptight by not allowing variety and flexibility. Ketu is our safe and familiar castle. The purpose of Rahu is to reveal limitations we impose upon ourselves because we are overly attached to the false sense of security represented by Ketu. Rahu is depicted as a jungle where we feel unsafe and vulnerable. Essentially, it is a field of our inexperience that we need to explore in this life.

In essence, having Ketu in the fourth house and Rahu in the tenth house indicates that you are coming from a karmic background of developing security through activity that was not based on concrete, practical, and material actions, but rather your inner life. In this lifetime, however, you are in a greater need of developing security through concrete actions in the material world.

The placement of Ketu in the fourth house indicates that in your recent past lives you have attempted to establish security through overly controlling your emotions. You felt like certain emotions were permissible, while anything else was not to be displayed on the outside. These could have been either positive or negative emotions. In your early environment and childhood, you could control your emotional reactions in order to please your parents. There is generally a tendency to conceal your true feelings, which could be a potential difficulty in your romantic relationships. You may hang on to feelings of negativity and it is hard for you to imagine yourself satisfied with your life or truly happy. Sometimes you may lie to yourself on an emotional level. Even if you have some achievements, you do not allow yourself to feel good about them or it is hard for you to feel emotionally motivated to do something. When you have opportunities to do something that would allow you to feel better, you reject these chances. This placement shows a strong emotional connection to your mother. Your relationship with her may need your attention and you two could have some unresolved issues that you will need to address in this lifetime.

In order to heal this axis, you will ultimately need to go in the direction of the tenth house where your Rahu is placed, which is related to achievements, outer actions in the world, public image, recognition, and fame. You will need to work more on developing your outer security and finding satisfaction in making this world a better place. You will need to be more consistent and embark on a steady course of action. Many people with this placement acquire high positions in government or are otherwise very successful. Others gain recognition through hard work and effort. While fame is not necessarily something you may want to chase, you need to allow yourself to feel good about your achievements and your impact on the world. You need to talk more about your emotional needs and try to put yourself — step by step — in situations that make you emotionally vulnerable. You need to develop a wider range of emotions and allow greater flexibility in this area of your life. You need to realise that you have the power to feel good about yourself and your life.
